Hudson Swan
Hudson Swan (born 1954) is a Scottish musician, specializing in folk music. He attended the John Neilson High School in the town of Paisley, Scotland, where he was born and raised.
He started learning to play the violin at the age of seven after encouragement from a fiddle playing uncle. In 1972 he joined Traditional Scottish Band, The Tannahill Weavers whom he performed with until 1982. During this period he played on the band's first three albums and toured extensively throughout Europe and Canada.
After leaving the band he formed his own band, The Hudson Swan Band and released two albums "Prospect Lane" and "Flyte of Fancy" on the KRL Lochshore record label. This band was however short lived.
Hudson Swan now lives in Cornwall where he works as a teacher for Music Cornwall passing on his skills as a traditional fiddle player to school children throughout the county. He now performs with folk rock band The Bell Jars. He was the musical director of The Cornwall Fiddle Orchestra before its dissolution in 2012.
