"I Can't Stand Up for Falling Down" is a song by Sam & Dave released in 1967,[1] written by Homer Banks and Allen Jones.
British musician Elvis Costello covered the song in 1980 for his album Get Happy!!. It was one of three singles taken from the album in the UK and peaked at number 4 in the UK Singles Chart.[2] It was supposed to be released on the 2 Tone Records label in the UK, but even though copies were pressed, contractual difficulties eventually halted its release on that label. The single was eventually released on F-Beat Records, accredited to Elvis Costello and the Attractions.[2]
