Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) is a private institute of education in associate engineering in Lahore and Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Pakistan. IET had awarded engineering degree's from year 2000 to 2005 with collaboration of Allama Iqbal Open University. Now It offers diploma of associate engineering in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical and Civil technology. It is very famous institute for short courses also.

History

Institute of Engineering and Technology was established in 2000, when it started its first program of Bachelor of Engineering in Telecommunication in collaboration with Allama Iqbal Open University.[1] It was the first private-sector institute in Pakistan to start a telecomm engineering program. It has branches in Islamabad/Rawalpindi and Lahore. It is running graduate programs in the areas of engineering, business administration and computer science in collaboration with Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU). It is recognized by Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC)[2] and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. It has been recognized by Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority, Pakistan. AIOU stopped the engineering program in 2006,[3] but all of its batches from 2000 to 2005 which include 1311 students were given recognition by Pakistan Engineering Council.

Then from 2005 it started associate engineering programs. In technical fields. It is affiliated with "Punjab board of technical education". It has been proved a hotspot for the associate engineering degree program. Students come here from across the country and from abroad to acquire associate engineering degree. At the end of the degree IET provide students with internships and jobs in multinational companies in pakistan. They have also started a scheme to send top position holders abroad for higher education.
