Into the Woods is a hard rock/heavy metal band from South London, England.

History

Formed in 2006 by Mike Watchorn (bass) and Alex 'Gooders' Goodwin (drums) after they attended Reigate College in Surrey. Over the course of the first year they gathered members including Neil Mulcahy as the main contributor shaping the guitar parts. Auditions for a singer soon followed and Latvian singer/actress Natalia Ryumina completed the writing team.

By the summer of 2007, with the addition of second guitarist Andy Short, the band were ready for the stage.[1]

Throughout their first year of shows and promotion, they recorded the material for their self-titled debut mini-album. The album went through many complications, delaying its planned synchronisation with the first string of shows. It was released in the fall of 2008 just in time for the group’s first full UK tour with Manchester-based Liquid Sky (band).

In 2009 the band continued its promotion efforts and played many larger shows, including a double performance at the UK's Bloodstock Open Air[2][3] festival in Derby, one electric and one acoustic set on the Jägermeister truck stage.[4] By the end of the year, Into The Woods had nonetheless slipped into an indefinite hiatus.

In March 2012, the band's Facebook page indicated that recording was underway for a new release.[5]
