Jamalpur (जमालपुर) is a village in Mirzapur district, in Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is situated in remote area of Uttar Pradesh and approximately 330 km from state capital Lucknow. Jamalpur is locally known for its political, social and economical importance. It is block village of nearly 120 villages. There are government hospital, government primary schools donated by Jaiswal's (Rai Bahadur Rai Sahab Laxmi Narayan Jaiswal) Family. The Post office (still situated in the house of Jaiswal's) and an area famous GURU KARSHNI MAHAVIDYALY, Kasihar, Surha, Adalhat, Chunar, Mirzapur; established by Babu Banarasi Singh s/o Sri Ram Chandra Singh,R/o Pura Durbasa] . There is also one school for special training for girls and disabled children for free; run by Advocate Sandip Kumar Singh son of Banarasi Singh .

Jamalpur is the most developed block in Mirzapur district & the most developed village in the block itself, almost half of the market land is belongs to Jaiswal's family only; they have contributed their best to make developed this area.

Though Jamalpur is not a place developed like a city yet there are many means of entertainment here like gambling, Cricket(just played by local guys and some tournament are organized in the main ground of Sri mati Deocali Inter College), and some athletic games like Kabaddi(specially at the eve of Naag panchami). There was a theater but nowadays it has not been working and probably it is supposed to be due to no profit
