K. Raghupati Bhat was a member of the legislative assembly (M.L.A ) of Karnataka state. He was elected from Udupi constituency in the election held in 2004. The Udupi constituency number is 146. After delimitation exercise carried out in the year 2008 by Election commission of India,[1] The Udupi assembly constituency number has changed to 120. He belongs to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He started as a member of BJP. He was elected to Udupi municipal council and he was also the president of district BJP Yuva morcha (Youth wing). He belongs to the Shivalli Brahmin community.
