KORE Wireless Group is a wireless network data provider headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia.[2]

The company specializes in Machine to machine (M2M) and Internet of things (IoT) solutions and technology. Its products and services are used for asset and fleet management, as well as with medical devices and payment processes.

History

Following the acquisition of Microcell by Rogers Wireless, expanded its wholesale agreement to provide the largest M2M and Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) footprint in Canada.[3]

Wireless Matrix Corp selected KORE to provide the platform for fleet management across North America.[4]

In 2010 Geotab selected the KORE to enable it to expand its European fleet management products.[5] KORE signed an agreement with both Vodafone and Iridium Communications to expand its MVNO M2M service to more than 180 countries in March 2011.[6]

After launching M2M consulting company KORE Systems, the company then acquired all assets of nPhase from Verizon Wireless.

In May 2013, KORE became a founding member of the International M2M Council, with KORE's COO Alex Brisbourne joining the Council's Board of Governors.[7] In November 2013, Inmarsat appointed KORE as its M2M distribution partner,[8]

In March 2014, KORE acquired Raleigh, NC-based Jazz Wireless Data to further enhance its service portfolio and support customers with additional options for 2G coverage.[9][10]

In November 2014, KORE announced that ABRY Partners would invest in KORE and simultaneously announced that KORE would acquire RacoWireless, a competing M2M MVNO.[11]

Services

KORE's original growth and still core market is associated with asset or fleet management, such as tracking delivery drivers and high value equipment.[12][13] The company expanded from its North American base by following these categories to expand internationally, to enable customers to overcome carrier and frequency differences.[12]

The current growth sectors are in medical devices and mobile payments.[12]
