Kankesanthurai Lighthouse is a lighthouse in Kankesanthurai in northern Sri Lanka.[1][2][3] Built in 1893, the 22 metres (72 ft) lighthouse has an octagonal masonry tower with lantern and gallery.[1] Located deep inside the Sri Lankan military's Valikamam North High Security Zone and next to a naval base, the lighthouse was heavily damaged during the Sri Lankan Civil War and is inactive.[1]
