Katrina Monton (born 23 September 1987 in Montreal, Quebec) is a female water polo player of Canada.

Personal

Her parents are Luis and Johanne Monton. She has two younger sisters: Danielle and Olivia. Monton studies at the Concordia University on hiatus, pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Psychology. She has been a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters for two years.

Career

Monton started playing water polo when she was 13 years old. She was a competitive swimmer first before playing water polo in the summer pool system where she was recruited by a winter coach to be part of a water polo club. She has been with the senior women’s national team since 2007, when she competed at both the FINA World Junior Championships and FINA World Championships. In 2009 she helped Canada reach the podium at two major international events when the team won its first ever silver medal in the FINA Water Polo World League Super Final and captured silver at the World Championships.She was part of the Canadian team at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships.[1]
