Kim So-hyun
Kim So-hyun (Hangul: 김소현; Hanja: 金所炫; born June 4, 1999), is a South Korean actress.[1] She began her career as a child actress in 2008 and initially rose to fame for playing a villainous young queen-to-be in period drama Moon Embracing the Sun (2012) and a girl who falls into tragedy in melodrama Missing You (2013).[2][3][4][5][6][7] She took on her first leading role in teen drama Who Are You: School 2015 (2015) and since then, has starred in horror-comedy series Hey Ghost, Let's Fight (2016).[8][9][10][11]
Early life
Kim was born in Australia on June 4, 1999. Her family moved to South Korea in 2003.[1]
Career
Kim began her acting career in the 2006 Drama City special titled Ten Minute Minor. She continued to star as child counterparts of the female protagonists in television series as well as movies, and built her fame as a child actress.
Her breakthrough came in the 2012 fantasy-period drama Moon Embracing the Sun as the younger version of the second female lead. This was followed by well-received supporting turns in fantasy-comedy drama Rooftop Prince and melodrama Missing You in 2013.[12]
In 2013, Kim became a co-host of MBC's music program Music Core along with Minho of SHINee and Noh Hong-chul.[13] She left in 2015 to focus on drama filming.[14] The same year, Kim starred in KBS's school series in Who Are You: School 2015, playing dual roles as twins Lee Eun-bi and Go Eun-byul.[15] She was awarded "Star of the Year" at the 8th Korea Drama Awards for her portrayals.[16]
In 2016, she starred in romance film Pure Love.[17] She also starred in the mystery-school web drama Nightmare Teacher and the romantic-comedy drama special Page Turner. [18][19] She then starred in Hey Ghost, Let's Fight for cable channel tvN.[20]
Kim will be starring in the upcoming historical drama Ruler: Master of the Mask which will premiere in 2017.
