King Harold Business and Enterprise Academy (formerly King Harold School) is a secondary school located in Waltham Abbey, Essex. Students attending the school are between the ages of 11 and 16. King Harold recently achieved Business & Enterprise specialism.

The Kemnal Trust

In recent months The Kemnal Trust has played a major role in the development of the school with a drive on improving 'outstanding teaching and learning.'

Business & Enterprise Specialism

In the summer of 2010 the bid was launched in the form of a 'Breakfast for Business' morning at the school in which business owners from the local town of Waltham Abbey were invited to take part in discussion and a leisurely morning with the key topic of The Business and Enterprise Specialism in mind.

During the course of the summer term, various events took place in the school leading to the subsequent success in gaining the specialism status. Years 7 to 10 were involved in a 'Get Enterprising' week in July where they were able to take part in enterprise related activities relating to their local town, the wider community and the forthcoming Olympics in 2012. Many of the employers who attended the 'Business Breakfast' launch gave up their time to join in with or lead the activities. Students also took part in projects relating to improving their understanding of personal finance. Each year group had an opportunity to present their work to their peers and many of the employers acted as judges during the week. The older students were also given the chance to take part in an individual mock interview with feedback from their interviewers from colleges and local businesses..
