Kristine Leahy (born October 16, 1986) is an American television host and sports reporter.[1][2][3] She is most known as a host on NBC's American Ninja Warrior and is the co-host and newswoman of the Fox Sports 1 radio simulcast, The Herd with Colin Cowherd. She is also an anchor and reporter for KCBS-TV in Los Angeles.

Early years

Leahy was born in Chicago where she became interested in sports. She attended Prairie Ridge High School in Crystal Lake, Illinois. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Journalism degree from Boston University. After college, she got a job at the sports radio station WEEI in Boston. She transitioned as an official reporter of the Boston Celtics and Celtics.com after the two-year stint at WEEI. She turned that into a job at FOX Boston, where she covered all Boston area sports teams.

Career

She moved to Los Angeles in 2012, and covered a variety of different sports, most notably as a sideline reporter for Turner Sports March Madness coverage. She worked for a variety of CBS affiliated sports outlets, including the local CBS LA news. Leahy transitioned into television as a sideline/after competition reporter for American Ninja Warrior on NBC.[4] In September 2015, Leahy took a job to join former ESPN Radio host Colin Cowherd on his new show after his exodus to FOX. Cowherd stated on air his desire for a female voice to read news at the bottom of the hour and contribute to the show, and Leahy's job was born.[5] He's cited her reliability, intelligence, and beauty, as well as "baggage" as reasons for hiring her over other female contributors, which is rumored to have included FOX's Holly Sonders.

Leahy and Mark Cuban appeared at Intel Extreme Masters Season X – San Jose on November 22, 2015.

Personal life

Leahy is a fan of the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Lakers.
