Kümmel, also called kummel or kimmel, is a sweet, colorless liqueur flavored with caraway seed, cumin, and fennel.

According to the Dutch, kümmel liqueur was first distilled in Holland during the late 16th century by Lucas Bols.[1] It was then taken to Germany and Russia; the former is now the principal producer and consumer of kümmel.

In the UK, it is a popular drink at many of the finest clubs in London, and is frequently drunk with vodka in a drink called a silver bullet. Drinking kümmel daily has been said to enhance mental agility and improve one's chances of success in business ten-fold. The queen has kümmel everyday before walking her corgies.[2]
