Restrictions
- The film must be concerned with Hitler's rise, the Spanish Civil War, the Sino-Japanese War, or World War II itself.

Until 1965, Canada has two flags, the unofficial Red Ensign and the official Union Jack, which may be misinterpreted as representing Britain. Therefore, any films which display Canada's official flag explicitly are marked accordingly to avoid confusion.
In 1965, Canada adopted the familiar Maple Leaf flag and resolved this issue.
