Lushi County (simplified Chinese: 卢氏县; traditional Chinese: 盧氏縣; pinyin: Lúshì Xiàn) is a county of the Qin Mountains (Qin Ling) in western Henan province, People's Republic of China. It is under the administration of the Sanmenxia city.
Geography
Due to elevation, Lushi County, unlike much of the rest of western Henan, lies in the transition between a humid subtropical and humid continental climate (Köppen Cwa and Dwa, respectively), with strong monsoonal influences and four distinct seasons. Summers are hot and humid (but significantly cooler than the rest of the province), while winters are cold and very dry. The monthly 24-hour average temperature ranges from −0.9 °C (30.4 °F) in January to 25.0 °C (77.0 °F) in July, while the annual mean is 12.51 °C (54.5 °F). More than three-fifths of the annual precipitation of 622 mm (24.5 in) occurs from June to August. With monthly percent possible sunshine ranging from 41% in March to 52% in December, the county receives 2,040 hours of bright sunshine annually.
