Exams

The MESA exams provide benchmarks for individuals training to become installation technicians. Each examination includes two parts: theory (written) and practical (hands-on).

Installation Knowledge Exam (IKE) - incorporates five elemental areas of mobile electronics installation. The exams are taken in the beginning of classes. The Installation Knowledge Exam is a prerequisite to other MESA exams.

Audio System Certification (ASC) - reviews day-to-day installation skills. Students usually take this exam at the end of the 5th week of class or about midway through training.

Security System Certification (SSC) - tests the area of vehicle security and remote starters.

MESA Certification is offered at Installer Institute in Daytona, Florida and Acoustic Edge in Houston, Texas.
