Manuel Gutiérrez de Salceda y Gómez

Manuel Gutiérrez de Salceda y Gómez^[1][2] (Mexico City, 1818 – † Mexico City, October 20, 1889) was a geographer, statistician and governor of Querétaro, Mexico (1864–1866). He had no deep bond with Querétaro other than that he married Maria Dolores Najera who had spent much part of his childhood in Querétaro. He was a journalist, editor, playwright and poet Imperial, Ex-Prefect of Querétaro. He died in Mexico on October 20, 1889.

Biography

Manuel Gutiérrez de Salcedo and Gomez was born in Mexico City in 1818^[3] and had no deep bond with deep bond with Querétaro, except, perhaps, having married Dona Maria Dolores Najera,^[4][5] who had spent much of his childhood in the Estado. The only condition put Maximilian for adoption was that the new prince agreed to remove his name that second name, and thereafter the child Iturbide became heir to the throne.

The queretana society seems to have accepted without too much trouble its new status as imperial subject: his daily life continued without major setbacks, the same as its distractions. The famous diva Angela Peralta debuted with great success at the Teatro Iturbide, a function dedicated to Emperador. At the same time, the French officers gave a resounding Spanish dance at the Casino, that would be remembered for many years. Even tranquility became such that queretanos found commenting, as the main event in many months, the fire at the house of Don Timoteo Fernández de Jáuregui, who burned furiously for several hours; the site where he was met since as the Portal Quemado. A most moving event was the execution of General José María Ateaga in Uruapan, on 21 October 1865.
