Mark R. Isfeld Senior Secondary is a public high school in Courtenay, British Columbia part of School District 71 Comox Valley. The school was named for Canadian Forces Master Corporal Mark Robert Isfeld (1962–1994). Master Corporal Isfeld gained recognition for distributing small knitted dolls to children during three tours of peacekeeping duties in the former Yugoslavia. The 'Izzy' dolls were made by his mother, Carol Isfeld, who lived in Courtenay. MCpl Isfeld, a Canadian Sapper, was killed while conducting demining operations near Kakma, Croatia on June 21, 1994.
