MidWestOne Financial Group is the 3rd largest publicly traded bank holding company headquartered in the U.S. state of Iowa. It is the holding company of MidWestOne Bank, and MidWestOne Insurance Services. MidWestOne Bank has 44 banking locations in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Florida. MidWestOne Insurance Services has 7 locations in Central Iowa.

History

MidWestOne Financial Group, Inc. was founded in 1934 as the Iowa State Bank & Trust Company Iowa City, Iowa by Ben Summerwill. In 1984, the ISB Financial Corp. was established as a closely held holding company for the bank. In 2008, ISB Financial Corp. acquired the former MidWestOne Financial Group, Inc. Oskaloosa, Iowa and took MidWestOne as the name of the company. In 2015, MidWestOne Financial Group, Inc. acquired Central Bancshares, Inc. of Golden Valley, Minnesota, the parent company of Central Bank. On April 2, 2016, Central Bank was merged into MidWestOne Bank.

MidWestOne Financial Group, Inc. is a public company traded on NASDAQ under the symbol MOFG.
