Miles Sampa

Hon. Miles Sampa is a politician and the former Member of Parliament for Matero Constituency.[1] After the death of the Fifth President of the Republic of Zambia Mr Michael Chilufya Sata who happens to have been Miles Sampa's Uncle, Miles Sampa was unduly elected as President of the party at a controversial Patriotic Front general conference. His election was later deemed illegal by the courts of law and Edgar Lungu who would later become republican President was declared the rightful PF president. Miles was later appointed as commerce deputy Minister in Edgar Lungu's government though he resigned and left PF shortly before the 2016 general election. Sampa attempted to form Democratic Front but the name already belonged to another party. After deliberating and searching for a party name, his party was registered as United Democratic Front UDF. Sampa went on to enter alliances with Political lightweights such as Elis Chipimo's NAREP and Eric Chanda's 4th Revolution Party before eventually throwing hos weight behind Hakainde Hichilema and UPND. As expected, UPND went on to lose the election and after reflecting on what hunger waited ahead for him, Sampa went back to beg to rejoin PF. [2][3]
