Miss Teen Ecuador is a national beauty pageant in Ecuador which began in 1990.

The Miss Teen Ecuador pageant, has been held annually to select representatives of Ecuador to international competitions.[1]

The pageant is organized by Rodrigo Moreira, who promotes the values of Ecuadorian women and chose to support children treated at SOLCA through an awareness-raising campaign among contestants, that collects hundreds of nutritional supplements annually.

The current Miss Teen Ecuador Universe is Camila Montenegro of Ambato, Tungurahua who was crowned at the Teatro Las Cámaras of Guayaquil, Ecuador, on May 28, 2016.[2] She competed at Miss Teenager Universal 2016 held in Panama.

Since 2016, the winner and runners-up will compete at Miss Teenager Universal and the Miss Teen Earth pageant.

History

Miss Teen Ecuador was founded in 1990 by Cesar Montecé [3] CEO of the Queen of Ecuador Inc. company.

The first Miss Teen Ecuador pageant was held in Guayaquil City, Ecuador in 1990; and the first winner was Alicia Álvarez. C.J. Arosemena Monroy, a former President of the Republic of Ecuador was present during the pageant coronation night.[4]

In 2012, the Queen of Ecuador Inc. company sold all the rights of the contest to the Miss Teen Ecuador Organization.

Rodrigo Moreira, president of the Miss Teen Ecuador Organization is voluntarily committed together the contestants in an annual campaign to gather powdered milk for children treated at the Solca Hospital in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

The Miss Teen Ecuador pageant celebrated its 25th anniversary at the Teatro Centro de Arte on April 18, 2015.
