Nabiollah "Nabi" Sorouri (Persian: نبى الله سرورى; born 1933 in Baku – deceased 2002 Tehran ) was an Iranian wrestler [1] who became a member of Iran senior national Wrestling team in 1953 and was a member until 1960.[2] Sorouri competed at the 1956 Summer Olympics, where he managed to obtain fourth place in the 73 kg division.[1] He won the gold medal in the 79 kg division of Freestyle wrestling at the 1957 World Wrestling Championships in Istanbul. In the 1958 Asian Games in Tokyo, he managed to win the silver medal of the 79 kg division. In the 1965 FILA Wrestling World Championships in Manchester Nabi Sorouri was the head coach of Iran senior national Wrestling team and led his team to championship in Freestyle which was Iran's second World championship.[3][4]
