Natter is a 5 word social network, often referred to as a "microblogging" or even "micro-microblogging" platform. Natter allows its users or “natterers” to post up to five words, a hashtag and an @ option to reference other natters, as well one hyperlink or one image to a post.
Natter was first launched in 2014 as a website at natter.com but has since launched apps for both iOS and Android. The user base has grown and describes themselves as the natter community.
On Friday, July 29, 2016, Natter ceased operations, due to competition, as well as running out of money.
