The Organization of Iranian American Communities (OIAC) is a bi-partisan nonprofit organization that represents a vast majority of Iranian Americans in the United States.[1][2] The organization is known for advocating democratic, secular, non-nuclear republic Iran and upholding the rich heritage of the Iranian culture.[3][4][5]
History
The OIAC was founded in 2012 with its present headquarters located in Washington, D.C., United States but it has been working as Iranian American Communities-US since 1997.[6] Dr. Majid Sadeghpour is currently the Political Director of the organization[7][8][9] while Ross Amin is the Vice President.[10][11][12]
So far, the OIAC represents the network of Iranian-American organizations in 40 U.S. States.[4] Members of OIAC are all volunteers and believe neither a foreign war nor an appeasement policy serves the interest of the Iranian people, people of the region and security of the world.[3]
Mission and acivities
The Organization of Iranian American Communities (OIAC) promotes human rights and democratic freedom for the Iranian people.[13][14][15][16] The organization advocates for a democratic secular government in Iran, founded on respect for human rights, religious tolerance, and equality among all Iranian citizens.[17][18][19][20][21] [22][23] It also organizes Iranian-American communities in the United States with the aim of promoting democratic values.[24][25] [26][27]
