P. Kumar (born 21 April 1971) is an Indian politician and incumbent member of the Parliament of the India from Thiruchirapalli constituency. He represents the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) party, he was born on 1971 April 21, his father's name is Palanivel and his mother's name is Muniyammal. Born in Pudukkottai district, Gandarvakkottai taluk, Punalkulam, Tamil Nadu. He has one son and one daughter. He is in the legal profession. In February 2014 he was re-nominated for the Lok Sabha seat of Trichy.[1]
Politics
He is a member of AIADMK; in 2009 he was nominated to participate in the Lok Sabha election for the AIADMK party. He polled more votes than his nearest rival, Congress' Chaurbala Thondaiman to win by a slender margin of just 4,335 votes. P Kumar had polled 2,98,710 votes against Charubala's 2,94,375 votes. Both hail from the Kallar community. Kumar has once again been nominated by the AIADMK from the same constituency for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. The announcement was made by AIADMK leader and chief minister J Jayalalithaa in Chennai on the day when the entire state was celebrating her 66th birthday. Kumar was also busy attending various functions related to her birthday in Srirangam. In the 2014 Lok Sabha election he polled more votes than Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate Mu.Anbhalagan. P Kumar polled 4,58,478 votes against Mu.Anbhalagan's 3,08,002.[2] Now, he got a posting in AIDDMK'Korada for Trichy.
