Paul Lancaster Wiltshire (born 25 July 1970) is an Australian entrepreneur, record producer and songwriter.

Early life

Wiltshire was born in Kingston, New York, United States to British parents and moved with his family to Australia in 1971 where he became an Australian citizen. Wiltshire grew up in Ballarat in Western Victoria.[1]

Wiltshire performed in several cover bands in the Ballarat region before moving to Melbourne in 1991 to pursue a career as an instrumentalist, songwriter and record producer.[2]

Career

Wiltshire commercialized his songwriting and production career in 1996 under the banner of PLW Entertainment. After signing his first publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music, Wiltshire had his first major sales success with Vanessa Amorosi's debut album released in 2000, "The Power," in which Wiltshire co-wrote 4 songs for the album and took part in producing the album. The album reached #1 on the ARIA (Australian Record Industry Association) album charts and remained in the top 50 for 62 weeks.

Also in 2000, Wiltshire co-wrote for Delta Goodrem's debut multi-platinum album Innocent Eyes, which reached #1 on the ARIA Charts, #2 on the UK Charts, and sold more than 3 million units globally. Wiltshire also co-wrote songs for Nikki Webster whose album reached #5 on the ARIA album chart and the Marcia Hines album, Diva.

During 2001 Wiltshire worked with the Los Angeles producing team, The Matrix, responsible for writing songs for Avril Lavigne, Korn, Hilary Duff.[2] He was then represented by producer manager Sandy Roberton (World's End) until 2007.[2]

Wiltshire eventually set up studios in Los Angeles, United States in 2003 with partner Victoria Wu (now Victoria Wiltshire) producing and writing music for artists in both the United States and Australia.[2]

Between 2003 and 2007 Wiltshire had many chart successes including producing and/or writing songs for the Backstreet Boys, Shannon Noll, Paulini, Guy Sebastian, Marcia Hines, Anthony Callea and Human Nature.

In 2004 Wiltshire signed publishing deals with Orient Pacific Music and Mushroom Music.[3]

Wiltshire produced all three of the Human Nature tribute to Motown albums: "Reach Out: The Motown Record", "Dancing in the Street: The Songs of Motown II" and "Get Ready". Reach Out was released in 2005, sold 6x Platinum, reaching #1 on the ARIA Album charts where it stayed in the top 50 for 56 weeks. In 2006 Human Nature won an ARIA award for highest selling album. The second Motown tribute album Dancing in the Street debuted at #1 on the ARIA album chart and went 3x Platinum. In 2007 Wiltshire expanded the PLW Productions business to include artist development, publishing and management divisions in Australia developing a stable of artists which included Sam Clark whose debut release, 'Broken' went to #1 on the ARIA Physical Single Charts in 2009.

Between 2000 and 2009 Wiltshire produced and wrote music, which included 12 #1 chart topping albums/singles, and 28 top 20 albums/singles.[4] [5]

Wiltshire and his family moved from Australia to Los Angeles permanently in 2013. In 2014 Wiltshire began developing a music technology business called Songtradr. Following a short beta period in 2015, Songtradr officially launched in March 2016, providing a B2B solution for brands, filmmakers and other media to license music from music creators.
