Pedavadlapudi is a village in Guntur district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Mangalagiri mandal of Guntur revenue division.[1][3]
Geography
Pedavadlapudi is located at 16°24'35.21" N 80°.36'40.92" E, and lies in Southern India. It borders the Revendrapadu to the east, Ippatam on the north, Mangalagiri on west and Chiluvuru on south.
Demographics
As of 2011 Census of India, the town had a population of 13,076, with 3655 households. The total population constitute, 6,552 males and females 6,524 —a sex ratio of 996 females per 1000 males. and 1,090 children, in the age group of 0–6 years, of which 535 are boys and 555 are girls. The average literacy rate stands at 73.63% with 8,585 literates, approximately equal to the state average of 67.41%.[4]
Government and politics
Pedavadlapudi gram panchayat is the local self-government of the village.[5] It is divided into 16 wards and each ward is represented by an elected ward member.[6] The ward members are headed by a Sarpanch and the present sarpanch is Chittibomma Venkateswara Rao.[7][8] While, the secretary of the panchayat is Puram Srinivasa Rao.[9]
Pedavadlapudi is a part of Mangalagiri assembly constituency of Andhra Pradesh.[10] The present MLA of the constituency is Alla Ramakrishna Reddy of YSR Congress Party.[11]
Economy
The village depends mainly on agriculture.[12] The village has a plant of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Private Limited.[13] For trading and exporting of agricultural products, there exists an Agricultural Market Yard.[14]
Transport
Tenali–Mangalagiri road passes through Pedavadlapudi and the APSRTC buses which operates from Tenali bus station to Manglagiri and Vijayawada, passes through the village.[15] Pedavadlapudi railway station is administered under Vijayawada railway division of South Central Railway zone and is situated on the mutual line of Howrah-Chennai and New Delhi–Chennai main lines.[16]
Education
Vijetha Public School[17] and Nagarjuna School[18] are the notable schools in the village.
