The Penn State Alumni Association is a network with over 175,000 members.[1] It is the largest dues-paying alumni association in the world.[2] Its mission is to connect alumni to the university and to each other, to provide valued services to members, and to support the university's mission of teaching, research, and service.
The Penn State DuBois Alumni Society is a group of local Penn Staters who meet regularly to stay connected and involved with Penn State DuBois as a whole. Membership is open to those who attended Penn State DuBois whether they moved on to another campus or not, those that received a two-year degree or only took a few semesters, as well as those that attended another campus but live in the local region. [3] Members of the Penn State DuBois Alumni Society consists of graduates, former students, faculty, staff and friends of Penn State DuBois who are regular paid members of the Penn State Alumni Association.
The society aims to carry out its stated purpose, as follows:
The purpose of the Penn State DuBois Alumni Society is to stimulate the continued interest of all graduated and former students, act as an informal advisory board to the campus Chancellor, and to provide a means whereby alumni may join together for the improvement of the campus and the University in its entirety. [4]
It does this through various events throughout the year, including reunions, student outreach, football tailgates and viewing parties, and cultural and performing arts events. In addition to these, it also provides social and professional networking opportunities, such as its "Outstanding Alumni Awards Banquet" and trips to the Eisenhower Auditorium at Penn State's Center for the Performing Arts.[5] Members are also provided various discounts and services.
