Peter Høj

Peter Høj is a Danish chemist who lives in Australia. Since 2012,[1] he has been the Vice Chancellor of the University of Queensland. He was previously Vice Chancellor of the University of South Australia from 2007 until 2012.[2][3]

Career

Høj was Managing Director of the Australian Wine Research Institute between 1997 and 2004 and Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Research Council between 2004 and 2007. He was a private member of the Prime Minister’s Science Engineering and Innovation Council (PMSEIC) from 1999 until 2004, and an ex-officio member from 2006 until 2007. He was appointed Vice Chancellor of the University of South Australia in 2007 and held the position until 2012.

He was a member of the CSIRO Board from 2011 until 2014, and was a member of the Australian Research Committee (ARcom) from 2012 until 2014.

He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering and a Foreign Member (Natural Sciences Class) of The Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters.[2]
