The combination of politics and technology covers concepts, mechanisms, personalities, efforts and movements including but not necessarily limited to the Internet and other information and communication technologies (ICTs).
One of the most influential and transformational information and communication technologies consist of the mobile phone, which can include: talk & text, radio, television, electronic mail, faxing (when connected to a computer) and video. This technical medium is completely redefining the way people interact with government and politics. Mobile phones are proving to increase political participation and are now even being portrayed as a voting gadget in even the least developed countries. Issues are being revealed as more confrontational due to the increased availability and overall public sphere potential.[1]
