Port Alfred High School ( affectionately known as the family school by the sea) is a state run, co-educational and bilingual school located in the sunny coastal town of Port Alfred, Eastern Cape, South Africa.[1] Their school hours are from 7:30 am to 13:45 pm and they provide both sports and cultural activities for the scholars at their school. The main languages of educating are English and Afrikaans, but they have introduced isiXhosa into their junior school.

In May 2016 the school suffered a serious fire with damage estimated to run into the hundreds of thousands of Rands. [2]
