R. Vaithilingam is an Indian politician and a member of the Rajya Sabha from the state of Tamil Nadu. He was Minister for Housing and Urban Development in the Government of Tamil Nadu from 2011 to 2016. As a cadre of Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, he was elected to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Orathanad constituency in 2001, 2006 and 2011.[2][3][4][5]
On 3rd June 2016, he was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha along with three others of his party. [6]
