Savvy & Mandy are a country-pop duo from Southern California in the United States.[1] Savvy and Mandy are sisters - Savannah Shay Burhoe (born August 10, 1993) and Amanda Quinn Burhoe (born October 12, 1995). Their professional career began with acting and modeling at the young ages of 9 and 11.[2]
Background
Savvy & Mandy bring their unique harmonies and undeniable lyrics to the country pop music scene. These Southern California bred sisters, have had a passion for singing since they were children. Their persistence and hard work have paved the way to making their dream a reality. While living in Nashville the past few years, the girls have had the honor of writing and producing with some of the city's finest, and have performed at many iconic clubs including The Bluebird Cafe, Douglas Corner, and The Listening Room. These collaborations have created Savvy and Mandy's signature sound that is showcased in tracks such as Comin' Back As A Cowboy, Never Forget and Change Your Stars, to name a few.
Savvy and Mandy are no strangers to life on the road. These two have toured all over the United States, sharing their music and interacting with their fans. Their infectious and relatable personalities have caught the attention of both the music industry and Hollywood. As a result, these charting artists have appeared in, and had their music placed in, multiple television shows and commercials.
Currently Savvy & Mandy are putting the finishing touches on their debut EP, scheduled to be released this year. This is just the beginning of a very bright future, for these two talented artists.
They have one older brother, Brayden, and one older sister, Christina, who is married to and has a son with actor Allen Evangelista. The sisters sang together as children and formed the duo after they had both discovered their love for singing.[2] They began recording their debut release on the Firm Music label in 2007.[1] with The Collective (T-Squad) and Ken Hauptman as well as Colleen Fitzpatrick (Vitamin C) They have appeared in a variety of catalog and print ads including Pottery Barn Kids. In October 2007 they released a digital only EP entitled Christmas in California which was featured on the ym.com website's What’s Hot This Week on November 6, 2007[3]
"Waiting for the Heartbreak", their debut single, was featured on the MTV series Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County, episode 201, "Are We or Aren't We".[4] It won Radio Disney's Music Mailbag on January 19, 2008, earning them online and regional airplay on Radio Disney stations. The song also received airplay on AOL Radio's Kid station[2] and Yahoo!'s Launchcast Radio. It was featured on the iTunes home page from January 15 to January 22 and on the iTunes Pop page.
They are part of the Milkrocks program to bring music to children in school in the United States through milk cartons. [5]
In December 2007 they performed at the ProScout Talent Conference in Anaheim, California. They performed at the International Family Film festival on March 2, 2008 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. [6]
