The Shade–Lohmann Bridge carries Interstate 474 over the Illinois River near the Peoria Lock and Dam located at River Mile 158.0 in Tazewell County, in the U.S. state of Illinois. It connects U.S. Route 24 between Bartonville and Peoria, Illinois to Illinois Route 29 between Creve Coeur and North Pekin, Illinois. Built in 1973,[2] the bridge was named after Pekin's former Mayor and Illinois Legislator, Norman Shade, and Martin B. Lohmann who served in the Illinois Legislature continuously from 1923-1953. As of summer 2012, extensive construction work was ongoing on the bridge and Interstate 474 around it on both sides.
