Social Coalition (Italian: Coalizione Sociale) is a transversal political organization in Italy, which was founded in June 2015 by Maurizio Landini, secretary-general of the metalworkers' section of the Italian General Confederation of Labour. Its goals are the protection of workers and the middle class.[1] The organization, that reunite several leftist thinkers, like the jurist Stefano Rodotà, the politician Vittorio Agnoletto, the former communist terrorists Oreste Scalzone and Franco Piperno.[2] The CS is criticized by the Democratic Party for its opposition to Matteo Renzi and his politics.
