Southern Fried Stings is an American television series where ex-South Carolina state trooper Jay Russell[2] and his "Jay Team" portray sting operations throughout the Southern United States. The series consists of scripted "re-enactments" and videotaped in a cinéma vérité style in southern cities. The "Jay Team" consists of Jay Russell; England Simpson, Jay's right hand woman; William Duram, martial arts expert; private investigator Randy "Wolf" Wise; and youth counselor Robert "Tank" Crayton.[3]
Phil Mushnick of the New York Post has described the program as one of the "phony reality shows decorated with a phony premise" which, in his opinion, "infest" the truTV network.[4]
