The Soviet Union (USSR) competed at the 1976 Summer Olympics in the city of Montreal, Canada. 410 competitors, 285 men and 125 women, took part in 189 events in 22 sports.[1]

The USSR sent only three archers to Montreal. Both of the women won medals, adding a silver and a bronze to the bronze medal the Soviets had won four years earlier. The lone Soviet in the men's competition took 5th place.
