Space tribology

Space tribology is a subset of the lubrication field dealing with the reliable performance of satellites and spacecraft (including the space station). It encompasses the entire gamut of tribological regimes, including elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL), parched EHL, transient EHL, boundary lubrication, and mixed lubrication.[1]
