Thammampatti is a special grade Town Panchayat in Salem District in the state of Tamil Nadu Thammampatti is situated between Pachamalai and the Kolli Hills. The river Swetha flows through the town and joins the river Vasista to form the river Vellar, which empties into the Bay of Bengal at Port Novo.

As of the 2011 Census of India, Thammampatti has a voter population of 21,503 with 5205 houses. The literacy rate is 66%, with a male literacy rate of 74% and a female literacy rate of 58%. The main industry in the area is agriculture, especially cultivation of tapioca.

Thammampatti is known for jallikattu next to famous jallikattu locations like Alanganallur, Pudukottai in Tamil Nadu. This city is also known for Tapioca (Kuchikizhangu) farming having more than 50 processing mills and acres of fields.
