The Icelandic Opera
The Icelandic Opera is an opera company based in Reykjavík that produces operas and concerts.[1] Its productions emphasize Icelandic artists, but regularly involve foreign artists as well. The company performs at the Harpa concert hall since its opening in 2011.[2]
History
The company was founded in the late 1970s.[3] For the first 30 years of its existence, the organization performed in the cinema Gamla Bíó on Ingólfsstræti in downtown Reykjavík.
