All goes well until Felix greedily keeps the tables open and the house begins to lose money. It turns out that the one who won all the money from the house owed Oscar that money. Now Felix comes to collect to regain the money for the costumes. But Oscar has a little detour with a bet at a pool hall first.

Oscar gets four tickets to the hottest new Broadway show in town, Kiss My Face. He invites Felix and his girlfriend Miriam, but can't find a date for himself. Murray The Cop is sick of self-righteous Felix, who pompously denounces movies. He challenges him to do better. Felix makes a documentary of Oscar, entitled Mondo Filth. Oscar brings a film producer to see the film and the producer offers Felix a directing job which becomes way over his head. David White guest stars.

Tennis star Bobby Riggs comes to see his buddy Oscar. Riggs is a hustler, and manages to gamble Oscar out of his money, clothes, the lease to the apartment and even the services of Felix! Riggs gives Oscar one more opportunity to win back everything he lost, by way of a ping-pong game between the two of them, winner take all. Female tennis star Billie Jean King, Riggs' tennis rival, makes a cameo appearance challenging Riggs to a game of ping-pong at the end of the episode.

Oscar's ulcer acts up so badly, he is forced to go to the hospital. He's allowed to go home after some examination, but only if someone other than Felix takes care of him. Leave it to Felix to try to find a suitable replacement for him in the guise of a nanny.

A flashback episode as one of Felix's earliest photo jobs, is for Playboy magazine. Felix has to photograph six girls, one of which will be chosen as the centerfold. Gloria, his fiancee at the time, turns out to be one of those six girls. Playboy founder Hugh Hefner makes a cameo appearance.

Sheldn is played by Rob Reiner, Penny Marshall's husband at the time. Myrna's brother is played by Penny's brother Garry. Garo Yepremian guest stars.

While Felix is photographing Silver the Wonder Dog for a dog shampoo commercial, he becomes incensed at the treatment of the dog by the hands of its owner. Felix kidnaps the dog but eventually gets caught and the whole situation will now have to settle itself in court. Guest stars: John Fiedler, Rona Barrett, and Bill Idelson.

Oscar owes Billy Joe Babcock (Pernell Roberts), who is throwing a square dance at a fancy hotel in town, $500, and coerces Felix to change his band's style of music (they are called "The Sophisticados" and change their name to "Felix 'Red River" Unger and his Saddle Sores) and play the square dance, as the original band meant to play cancels out at the last minute. By doing so, Oscar's debt to Babcock will be wiped out.

Oscar owes Felix a fortune, yet he keeps gambling anyway, betting on horses in particular. Seeing this quick road to a lot of cash, suddenly, Felix becomes interested in playing the ponies!

The new building manager, Mr. Lovelace, is not providing services to the tenants, because he is a crackpot who spends too much time talking to his house plants and treating them as if they were people. Felix, angered and annoyed like the rest of the folks in the building, calls a rent strike. The flaky Lovelace retaliates by removing the doors from all of the apartments and shutting off the heat, then refuses to restore the doors or the services unless Felix, who he regards as a troublemaker, leaves.

Oscar is scheduled to be on The Dick Cavett Show to uncover a race track scandal when he loses his voice screaming at Felix. Between Felix and the apartment getting robbed, it will be a true test of Oscar's mettle to see if he doesn't have a reason to speak in those two days.

Richard Dawson is doing a new variety show, and Oscar has been chosen to be his co-host. Felix however, holds a grudge against Dawson; they were in the army together and used to be part of a song and dance act, and Felix feels that he taught Dawson everything he knows about show business. Dawson sees it the other way around.

When Felix discovers that his ex-wife Gloria has been dating another man, he starts taking drastic measures to win Gloria back such as sleeping in Oscar's ultra messy bedroom. Gloria is convinced that Felix has changed somewhat from being a finicky pest and agrees to remarry him. The wedding takes place in the boys' living room in what is the final episode of the series.
