The Walking Who
The Walking Who is an Australian psychedelic rock[1] band from Wollongong,[2] formed in 2010 and consists of Rohin Brown, Jay Bird and Paul McLean.[3] The three core members often play and record with as many as four guest musicians.[4]
They released their debut album Candy Flu with the single of the same name.[5]
The song received play on Sydney's FBi Radio and they received 'Unsigned Artist of the Week' March 2011.[6] The music video for "Candy Flu" was named ABC's Rage Indie clip of the week.[7]
Their next single “Have You Seen The Colours” was released December 2012 and received airplay on FBi Radio and the band appeared on FBI’s Lunchbreak.[6] The song has also been played on National Broadcaster Triple J on Richard Kingsmill’s ‘2013’[8] and Dom Alessio on ‘Home & Hosed’. Other Triple J DJ’s have written reviews on Triple J Unearthed.[9][10]
The Walking Who has performed about Australia[2] including gigs at The Annandale Hotel,[11] the Alhambra Lounge[1] and Oxford Art Factory.[12]
In 2013 they independently released an EP, Mansions,[13][14] and played at a new festival, "Farmer and The Owl", in Wollongong, Australia.[15]
In 2014, The Walking Who won the FBi Radio ‘Northern Lights Competition’, earning a spot on stage at the Airwaves Festival in Iceland.[16][17][18] The band released a single "With Roses"[19] and performed at the Pigsty in July festival.[20]At the end of the year, they were nominated for two awards at FBi Radio's Sydney Music, Arts and Culture Awards.
In 2015, the band once more played at the Farmer And The Owl festival[21] before embarking on a tour of the United Kingdom and parts of Europe including Citadel Festival.[22][23]
