Tim O'Brien (astronomer)
Timothy Joseph O'Brien (born 15 May 1963) is a British astronomer, currently working at the University of Manchester as Professor of Astrophysics. He often appears on the BBC.[1][2]
Early life
He completed a PhD at the University of Manchester in the 1980s.
Career
He began working at the University of Manchester in 1999. He teaches the first year course on Astrophysics.[3]
Research
He researches supernovae (exploding stars).
Broadcasting
He has appeared on Stargazing Live on BBC Two and The Infinite Monkey Cage on BBC Radio 4.[4]
