Usersnap is an Austrian web application company based in Linz, Austria. The company is best known for its visual Bug Tracking and Feedback Tool, which is employed by web developers, web designers, and customer care managers worldwide. Usersnap serves 1,000 customers globally,[1] including companies such as Microsoft, Facebook, Hawaiian Airlines, and Runtastic.

Usersnap was mentioned in a Forbes article by Alison Coleman as one of the European startups to watch out for.[2]

History

Usersnap was founded in 2013 by the two brothers Florian and Gregor Dorfbauer and Josef Trauner. The idea for Usersnap arose from the founders working in developing web applications where they faced communication challenges.[3]

The product emerged from the idea to communicate better with a visual communication tool and to make web development more efficient. The three founders started working on their product in early 2012. In 2013 Usersnap raised an investment from SpeedInvest.[4] Four more investments by Angel-Investors (Europe/US) followed.

Bug Tracking Software

The Usersnap Bug Tracking widget can be added to any website. It enables web developers to improve the Q&A process for web projects.[5][6] The bug tracker creates screenshots of the current browser content and allows users to annotate directly in their browsers. The Usersnap Bug Tracker is a visual communication tool which helps communicate issues and share feedback between developers, customers and everyone involved in a web project.

Visual Communication

Usersnap allows users to communicate visually. The idea behind it, is that our brains can process visual information 80,000 times faster than text. Usersnap wants to enable users to show problems and ideas instead of explaining them verbally. The screenshot-tool is a way to avoid filling out endless forms and to submit feedback with an easy Point & Click method instead.

Clients

Usersnap serves 1,000 customers globally and caters to companies such as Microsoft, Facebook, Hawaiian Airlines, Runtastic, but also universities like NYU, Columbia University, Duke University and Texas University. Usersnap is also used by non-proft organizations like the IAEA and the National Library of New Zealand.
