Veit Renn

Veit Renn (born June 25, 1967) is a producer and songwriter born in Augsburg, Germany, who lives in Orlando, Florida, USA. Renn has written and produced for artists such as *NSync, Backstreet Boys, Jennifer Hudson and Aaron Carter.

Background

Renn started to get involved in music at the young age of eight when his parents bought him his first keyboard. From the inspiration of his brother, nine years his senior, Renn began to write his own songs. In addition to the keyboard, with the aid of private lessons from an instructor, Renn also taught himself to play the guitar and bass guitar.

Career

While singing in bands in 1986, Renn was recognized with an award for “Most Promising Musician” of his home town. This, along with growing success that included songwriting for a band composed of members many years his senior, prompted his enrollment in the Berklee College of Music. There he developed multiple technical skills, including songwriting, arranging, sequencing and singing. After Berklee, he began working on an album with vocalist RAab, who was then signed to Rip It Records. Renn sequenced and co-arranged most of the project, including “Foreplay”, a gold single from the album. He then went on to work with the group Jaze on a song titled “Summer Love Thang”. Soon after, he met the Backstreet Boys[1] and co-produced the platinum single, "I'll Never Break Your Heart",[2] along with a few other songs from their first album.[3] Renn wrote and produced 18 songs for *NSync on their albums *NSYNC,[4] Home for Christmas,[5] and No Strings Attached,[6] all of which went Platinum.[7] Veit has played a vital role in the development of *NSync and the Backstreet Boys and several artists including Natural, Jennifer Hudson, Erly Thornton and Jamie Williams. His production has also been used on HBO, The Jenny Jones Show and Nordic Track commercials.

Veit also has become an engineer, mixing records in several genres including jazz, pop, R&B and rock. He is co-owner of RMP Studios Inc., located in Orlando, Florida, and continues to work on projects with various artists. He has started his own label, Renn Music-The Label, and is signed to Universal Music Publishing as a songwriter.
