Vicki Myron (born 1947; Spencer, Iowa) is an American author.[1]
Early life
She was born in Spencer, Iowa and grew up on a farm near Moneta,[2] fifteen miles from the town of Spencer. Myron graduated from high school in Hartley then moved to Mankato, Minnesota where she married and had a daughter.[2] Although suffering from a variety of health problems, she graduated from Emporia State University. She was the head librarian in Spencer library for 25 years, from the age of 24 until she retired after the death of Dewey,a cat adopted by the librarians in 1988. She now lives in Spencer, Iowa. The first edition of the world-famous Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World was published in 2008; two years after the cat's death.
