"Voyces United for UNHCR" is a charity album for the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), an agency which protects and supports refugees at the request of a government or the United Nations and assists in their return or resettlement.
The album was initiated by Joalby Lopez who also contributed the song "Miscellaneous Pi" to the album. A release party for this album took place in the Knitting Factory in New York in 2005. The party was attended by various artists from the album, such as Brad Estrin (from American Idol 1), Joalby and Candice Coleman (from American Idol 2).
As of May 2006, the album had been picked up for distribution. The album was released on Intersound Records on August 22, 2006 in the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
