Profile CDBS |
WJKP-LD is the low-powered, MyNetworkTV-affiliated television station for the Central and Western Twin Tiers of Southern Upstate New York and Northern Pennsylvania. Licensed to Corning, it broadcasts a standard definition digital signal on UHF channel 39 from a transmitter on Higman Hill in Corning. The station can also be seen on Time Warner Cable channel 50 (in Corning) and channel 44 (in Elmira) and in 720p high definition on digital channel 1215 (however, the HD feed is cable-only).[1]
Owned by Vision Communications, WJKP-LD is sister to Fox affiliate WYDC and the two outlets share studios on East Market Street in Downtown Corning. Syndicated programming on the station includes The Jerry Springer Show, The Wendy Williams Show, Friends, and The Office among others. In addition to its own low-powered digital signal, WJKP-LD also receives full-market over-the-air coverage on WYDC's second digital subchannel (although, only in standard definition, digital subchannel 48.2 for those with digital converters). This airs on UHF channel 48.2 from the same Higman Hill transmitter in Corning.
