Walter Asbil
Walter Gordon Asbil is a retired Canadian Anglican bishop.
Asbil was born on 3 October 1932 and educated at [McGill University (Quebec)]. Ordained in 1957,[1] his first ministry position was at Aylwin River Desert. He held incumbencies at South Shore, Montreal, St Stephen’s Montreal, St George's Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Quebec and St George's in St Catharines.[2] From 1986 to 1990 he was Dean of Christ Church Cathedral, Ottawa when he became coadjutor bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Niagara and then its diocesan bishop in 1991.[3] He retired in 1997.
