Westminster Schools of Augusta was founded in 1972 as a private, Christian college-preparatory school located in the western section of Augusta, Georgia. The school serves 604 students in grades pre-kindergarten through 12. The school is divided into three age groups, Lower (pre-K to grade five), Middle (grades six to eight), and Upper (grades nine to 12).
The school consists of two main areas on its 34 acres (140,000 m2) campus. The original buildings house grades six through 12. A new building constructed in 1999 houses pre-kindergarten through grade five.[1][2]
Academics
The educational program of Westminster Schools of Augusta is based on "a biblically-based Christian world view",[3] and aims to "glorify God by providing an excellent education that equips students to live extraordinary lives for Jesus Christ".[3] It also uses the Arrowsmith Program.[4]
Westminster's college-preparatory curriculum includes 19 Advanced Placement courses, with 80 percent of students routinely scoring a 3 or higher on each year's AP exams. Since its inception, Westminster students have had a 100 percent acceptance rate into college, with most electing to enroll in four-year colleges and universities. Westminster graduates have been accepted at all eight Ivy League schools and matriculated from five of them: Princeton, Harvard, Cornell, Dartmouth, and Brown. Westminster graduates have also matriculated from West Point and the Naval Academy.

Athletics
Westminster Schools of Augusta fields 16 varsity interscholastic sport teams, including football, basketball, soccer, tennis, track and field, cross country, baseball, golf, swimming, and cheerleading.
The Westminster boys' soccer team is one of the most dominant in its state classification, having won five state championships. They have also won 157 regional championships. The girls' soccer team has won 12 regional championships.[5] In the 2008-2009 season, the girls' soccer team won the state championship, the first in school history.[6]
In 2012, the Westminster competition cheerleading squad won the state championship for the first time in school history.

Fine arts
The Westminster Fine Arts Department provides students with the freedom to express their creativity while pursuing excellence through comprehensive instruction and application. Lower School students enjoy a wide array of artistic experiences, beginning as early as kindergarten. The Middle and Upper School offerings in debate and forensics, music, theatre and visual art enable older students to express creativity through curriculum, clubs and organizations.
